Ruger Requests to Inherit Wizkid’s Fanbase Upon His Retirement

Nigerian singer Ruger has made a bold request to fellow music star Wizkid, asking if he can inherit the legendary artist’s fanbase once Wizkid decides to retire from music. The 23-year-old artist made the request on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) this past Saturday, igniting conversation among fans and music industry observers alike.

In his tweet, Ruger expressed hope that when Wizkid decides to step away from music, and if Wizkid’s son Zion does not pursue a musical career, he would be the ideal candidate to take over the fanbase. “@wizkidayo if you ever decide to not do music again, and Zion no wan do music Slsef, pls write my name Ruger as the person to inherit your fanbase in your music will,” Ruger wrote.

The tweet, which garnered immediate attention, reflects Ruger’s admiration for Wizkid’s influence and success in the music industry. Wizkid, widely regarded as one of Africa’s top performers, has built an incredibly loyal following known as Wizkid FC, who are renowned for their devotion to the artist’s music and legacy. Ruger’s statement comes as a humorous yet respectful gesture to potentially take on the responsibility of maintaining the legacy of one of Nigeria’s most beloved musicians.

While Ruger’s message was playful, it also speaks to the growing recognition of his own rise in the Nigerian music scene. Since his breakout with hits like “Ruger” and “Rashford,” Ruger has quickly gained a loyal fanbase of his own.
