A shocking video has emerged showing the moment Nigerian boxer Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju collapsed and died during a match in Ghana. The 40-year-old former National and West African light-heavyweight champion was fighting against John Mbanugu, also known as “Power,” in an undercard bout of Ghana’s Professional Boxing League at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The match was intense, with both fighters exchanging blows until Olanrewaju suddenly collapsed with just 15 seconds left in the third round of the scheduled eight-round fight. The referee immediately called for medical assistance, and ringside doctors rushed in to help.
Despite the rapid response from the medical team, Olanrewaju was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports suggest he may have suffered a cardiac arrest, although an official autopsy is yet to be released. The tragic incident has left the boxing community in shock and mourning.
