Terrorists struck in Kaduna State on Monday, kidnapping two nurses and two patients from the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kuyallo community, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area.
According to a resident, Ishaq Usman, the attackers initially targeted the Government Day Secondary School in the community but found no students, prompting them to turn their attention to the health facility.
A source in Birnin Gwari town confirmed the incident to state that the terrorists, locally known as bandits, invaded the school around 9 a.m. but found it empty.
Musa Alhassan, a leader of the local vigilante group, also confirmed the incident to reporters in Kaduna, providing further details on the attack.
The terrorists then proceeded to the Primary Healthcare Centre, where they abducted two nurses and two patients.
The motive behind the kidnapping is yet to be determined, but it is believed to be part of the ongoing wave of terrorist attacks in the region.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to comment on the incident, as the police spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), did not respond to phone calls on Monday evening.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of healthcare workers and patients in the pregion, as well as the ability of security forces to protect vulnerable communities.
