“That’s Just Noise” – Mercy Aigbe Responds to Criticism Over Marriage to Kazim Adeoti

Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has firmly dismissed the negative comments surrounding her marriage to movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, labeling them as nothing more than “noise” from individuals who might be dealing with their own personal struggles. During her appearance on the talk show Iriri Mi, hosted by Bimpe Akintunde, Aigbe addressed the widespread allegations that she had manipulated her husband, a father of four, into marrying her.

Aigbe, who has been the subject of public scrutiny since her marriage, expressed frustration over the intense criticism, which she believes stems from people’s unfounded concerns about her relationship. “That’s just noise. Look closely at those talking—how is their life? People only talk when you’re doing something good. If you’re not known, you can’t be their topic. You have to be at the top to be a topic,” she stated, clearly unbothered by the opinions of her detractors.

The actress went on to challenge the motivations behind the public’s obsession with her personal life, questioning why so many were so invested in the details of her relationship with Adeoti. According to Aigbe, such commentary often says more about the critics than it does about her marriage. She suggested that the negative remarks were merely a reflection of the critics’ own issues rather than genuine concern for her well-being.

Aigbe also opened up about the opposition she initially faced from her family when she decided to remarry, especially considering her age. Many family members were reportedly concerned about her decision to get married again at almost 50, an age some felt was too late for such a major life decision. Despite the pushback, Aigbe stood firm in her resolve, insisting that she knew exactly what she wanted in life.

Reflecting on her choice to marry Kazim Adeoti, Aigbe said, “I love love, actually. Even some family members asked me why I was getting married at almost 50, but everybody knows what they want. I know what I saw, and I know what I wanted.” She made it clear that she was in tune with her desires and felt no need to justify her choices to others.

Aigbe’s comments also shed light on her deep desire for companionship and marriage. She emphasized that she loves the idea of being in a committed relationship and having a “crown” in the form of a husband. Her declaration highlighted that her decision was about fulfilling her own personal goals rather than conforming to societal expectations.

The actress concluded by suggesting that her life would likely have been very different had she remained in her previous relationship. “Maybe if I was still in my baby daddy’s house, I wouldn’t be known as Mercy Aigbe,” she added.
