A tragic building collapse in Kofar Bai Quarters, ABirnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State has claimed the lives of three people.
According to DSP Lawan Adam, Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Police Command, the incident occurred on September 9, 2024, at around 23:50hrs.
“On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at approximately 00:05hrs, Ahmad Isah of Kofar Bai Quarters, Birnin Kudu LGA reported to the Birnin Kudu Division that on September 9, 2024, at around 23:50hrs, a room in his residential house collapsed,” Adam said.
A rescue operation was launched, and seven individuals were evacuated from the scene. However, upon arrival at the hospital, three of the victims were confirmed dead.
The deceased were identified as Khalifa Ahmad, 13; Tijjani Ahmad, 12; and Rabiu Ahmad, 12, all from the same address. Their bodies were handed over to the family for burial according to Islamic rites.
Four other victims are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.
