Tiwa Savage Clashes with Wizkid FC After ‘Toma Toma’ Release

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage is once again in the spotlight, this time due to an ongoing clash with the fanbase of her fellow artist, Wizkid. Known as “Wizkid FC,” the group is notorious for its unwavering support of Wizkid and its rivalry with his competitors in the Nigerian music industry. Recently, Tiwa Savage found herself at odds with this fan group after they mocked her for releasing new music on the same day as Wizkid.

The controversy began when Tiwa Savage promoted her collaboration with Ruger, titled “Toma Toma,” which dropped on November 15, 2024. The singer took to Instagram to share her excitement about the track, posting: “Told yall this one is special. The @rugerofficial called and I answered.” However, some members of Wizkid FC did not take kindly to the timing of her release, with one fan commenting, “They’re just messing around; no one has hits like Wizzy.”

Tiwa Savage, clearly upset by the response, fired back on social media. “Because I am promoting music? WTF…y’all are not fans anymore ooo you guys are actual bullies,” she retorted. The singer’s fiery response highlighted the ongoing tension between her and Wizkid’s fanbase, who have a reputation for attacking artists they perceive as rivals to their idol.

This latest confrontation is just one of many in the long-standing feud between Wizkid FC and other Nigerian artists. Recently, the fanbase clashed with Skales, after the singer claimed he had written songs for Wizkid during their time together at Banky W’s EME label. The dispute resulted in Skales being targeted online by Wizkid FC, further fueling the rivalry between the two camps.

Tiwa Savage’s latest encounter with Wizkid FC follows a pattern of increasingly hostile interactions between the fanbase and other Nigerian artists. Despite these challenges, Tiwa has continued to maintain her prominence in the Nigerian music scene, with recent successes like the release of “Toma Toma” alongside Ruger. The song has already been well-received by fans, though the negative attention from Wizkid’s supporters has cast a shadow over its promotion.

While Tiwa’s response was clearly fueled by frustration, it underscores the fierce competition and sometimes toxic environment within the Nigerian music industry. The rivalry between Wizkid FC and other artists has become a fixture of the scene, with fans often rallying around their favorite stars in bitter disputes.
