Top Herbal Medicine Practitioner, Quincy Ayodele Urges National Assembly to Pass the Traditional Medicine Bill into Law
Thursday, 8th September, 2022, during an interactive session with top media practitioners at Quincy Wellness & Naturopathic Centre, Ikeja, Lagos top herbal medicine practitioner and the prime mover of Quincy Wellness and Naturopathic Centre, Dr Quincy Olasunbo Ayodele urged the National Assembly to pass the Traditional Medicine Bill into law.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) expert on research and development of traditional medicine, Dr Quincy Ayodele, made this clarion call while stating the benefit of having such bill pass into law.
I’m her words, she said ”We are supposed to be a nation that is supported by nature, we have all the natural resources around us, is it okay for us to put that nature behind us? what do you think nature will do, nature will begin to bring all diseases we think our practice can’t cure, and at the end of the day, we will realize that it’s only nature that can cure these diseases.
”For instance, Covid-19 was a test, it forced everybody to go back to nature because we put our eyes on something else and relegated nature to the background. So nature came out and said ‘okay let me see how you are going to do it,’ at the end, it was still traditional medicine that managed Covid-19 properly.
“Traditional medicine is all that we had before the emergence of modern medicine. And the same applies to all cultures and civilizations. Continuous interest and research into traditional medicine are the right way to go for further development of these ancient herbs in Nigeria
Dr Quincy who was weeks back honoured by Federal Ministry of Health with a Special Recognition award for her immense contribution to the development and promotion of African Traditional Medicine in Nigeria is not relenting as she rolled out latest product and services at Quincy Wellness & Naturopathic Centre.
“We are adding fertility treatment to our array of healthcare services, we have always been doing it though. We want to take a step further by taking patients from infertility stage to conception, management of pregnancy to the point of giving birth, this will commence by January 2023 by His grace. We have the orthodox medicine, the herbs and capacity to do it at Quincy Wellness & Naturopathic Centre
We have also gone ahead to produce Quincy Alkaline bottle water. The reason we went into production of Alkaline bottle water is not far-fetched. We discovered that most bottled water around are not well-purified and we have also seen cases of heart burn and other preventable ailments which our Alkaline water can take care of like ulcer etc. Our Alkaline bottle water is medicinal and can prevent and manage some ailments.
