Tragedy As Cocoa Merchant, Festus Olawale Commits Suicide

Festus Olawale, an Osun businessman has reportedly committed suicide in his cocoa store at Gbongan, Osun state.

According to ThePunch, the deceased died after hanging himself in one of the rooms in his cocoa store on Friday, August 14, 2020.

The incident, which reportedly happened around 8:00 pm led to panic in the community when the corpse was found hanging in the store.

Before he committed suicide, Olawale neither acted strangely nor left a suicide note.

Confirming the incident, Osun State Police command said police operatives had visited the scene.

The command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola said the reason why the father of four took his own life is not known yet.

She said, “From the available report, the incident happened about 8:00pm on Friday. One Olawale Festus, aged 43 years old, of Oke Ola, Gbongan hung himself in his Cocoa shop and died.”
