United States President, Donald Trump has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, warning that it could escalate further if the conflict is not resolved. In a post shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed his belief that the war could be ended swiftly but cautioned that if no agreement is reached, the U.S. would be forced to take stronger actions.
Trump emphasized that he was not seeking to harm Russia and reaffirmed his longstanding positive relationship with Putin. “I’m not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people, and always had a very good relationship with President Putin – and this despite the Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” Trump wrote, referencing past political accusations aimed at him regarding ties with Russia.
The U.S. President also took a historical approach in his appeal, reminding his followers of Russia’s significant role in World War II. “We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60,000,000 lives in the process,” Trump stated, positioning Russia’s past contributions as a reason to seek a peaceful resolution.
Despite his praise for Russia’s historical sacrifices, Trump made it clear that the current situation could not continue without serious consequences. He warned that if Russia and Ukraine did not reach a deal soon, he would be forced to implement severe economic measures. “Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE,” Trump urged, suggesting that failure to negotiate would lead to higher taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on Russian exports to the U.S. and other allied nations.
Trump went on to suggest that the war would never have happened if he were still in office, pointing to his past leadership as a reason for optimism. “This war never would have started if I were President,” he declared, positioning himself as a key figure in resolving global conflicts.
The former president also stressed the importance of taking the “easy way” to resolve the war, rather than escalating the conflict. “Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better,” Trump concluded, calling for a swift and peaceful settlement.
