Verydarkman Accuses Government of Deception

Media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), to voice strong criticism of the federal government. In a recent public statement, Otse condemned the government for what he termed “deceiving the public” regarding the pricing of essential goods.

VDM specifically targeted the government’s claim that 50kg bags of rice are being sold for N40,000. He countered this assertion, stating, “The real price in the markets is more than N70,000.” His comments highlight a growing frustration among citizens who are struggling to afford basic necessities amid rising prices.

In a direct challenge to the government, VDM urged officials to provide information on where consumers could purchase rice at the claimed price. “If they can’t show us these prices, it’s clear they are out of touch with the reality on the ground,” he said, underscoring the disconnect between government claims and everyday experiences of Nigerians.

Furthermore, Otse criticized the government’s announcement of an increase in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance to N77,000. He argued that despite this claim, the allowance remains at N33,000, calling it “another example of misleading information.” His remarks reflect a growing discontent with the government’s handling of economic issues.

VDM also warned of the potential for civil unrest if the current situation does not improve. “A day will come when citizens will protest against bad leadership,” he cautioned, suggesting that government leaders may be unprepared for such a response. His warning resonates with widespread sentiments of frustration among the populace.

He further emphasized that when this moment of protest arrives, it will not be announced in advance. “The government will have to deal with the fallout,” he stated, indicating the seriousness of public dissatisfaction. Otse’s statements signal a call for accountability and transparency from those in power.
