Verydarkman Faces Defamation Case Filed by Falanas

Social media critic Martins Otse, better known as Verydarkman (VDM), has arrived at the Lagos High Court for the ongoing defamation case filed against him by prominent Nigerian human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, musician Falz. The case, which has drawn significant public attention, stems from alleged defamatory comments made by VDM, targeting the Falanas.

The controversial critic shared his arrival in Lagos on Wednesday, November 13, and used the opportunity to explain why he would not offer an apology to the Falanas. “I have nothing to apologize for. I stand by my words,” VDM asserted in a video posted on his social media, sending a strong message about his stance on the matter. His defiant tone has captured the attention of both his supporters and critics, adding more fuel to the ongoing legal battle.

In the video of his arrival at the court, VDM was seen dressed in attire resembling that of a traditional priest, walking barefoot as he made his way into the courtroom. His unusual outfit, which appeared to symbolize a spiritual or symbolic gesture, added to the spectacle surrounding the case. The sight of VDM in traditional garb only intensified the media buzz and fueled speculation about his motives for dressing this way.

Accompanying the video, VDM shared footage of enthusiastic fans cheering him on as he entered the courtroom with his legal team. The support from his followers was evident as they shouted words of encouragement, showing that VDM has cultivated a loyal fan base that stands by him despite the legal challenges he faces. His supporters seemed unfazed by the gravity of the case, focusing instead on his bold personality and public persona.

The defamation case centers around allegations that VDM made defamatory remarks about the Falanas during a highly publicized argument with crossdresser Bobrisky. In the heated exchange, which was widely discussed on social media, the Falanas were mentioned, with the father-son duo claiming that VDM’s comments damaged their reputations. The Falanas have since taken legal action, seeking redress for the harm they say they have suffered.

As the case progresses, VDM’s refusal to apologize has only fueled further tension. He has made it clear that he stands by his controversial statements, which have drawn mixed reactions from the public.
