Social critic, Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has offered his views on the ongoing paternity controversy involving celebrity barman Pascal Okechukwu, commonly referred to as Cubana Chiefpriest, and his alleged baby mama, Helen. VDM, who is no stranger to speaking out on public matters, took to social media to address the situation that has garnered significant attention in recent days.
In his statement, VDM clarified that while Cubana Chiefpriest is his friend, he felt it was important to speak up given that the issue had now become public. “Though Cubana is my friend, this matter has gone public, and I cannot remain silent,” VDM explained. His comments were in response to Helen’s interview with popular content creator Lucky Udu, where she discussed her relationship with the celebrity barman and the events leading to her pregnancy.
Helen, in her interview, detailed how she met Cubana Chiefpriest at a restaurant in Lagos and later went to meet him at the Intercontinental Hotel. According to her, their encounter was the start of a relationship that resulted in her pregnancy. However, VDM did not hold back in his criticism of Helen’s actions, suggesting that she may have been less than honest about her intentions.
Accusing Helen of being a call girl, VDM remarked, “She went to see Cubana Chiefpriest at the Intercontinental Hotel just one day after meeting him at a restaurant. That’s highly suspicious.” He further implied that Helen might have been charmed by the barman, drawing a parallel to his own experiences with such situations. “She could have been swayed by his charm,” VDM said, referencing the allure often attributed to the wealthy and influential figures like Cubana Chiefpriest.
The social critic then called on the celebrity bartender to take definitive action in order to settle the issue once and for all. “Cubana Chiefpriest must conduct a DNA test on the boy,” VDM insisted. “If the child is not his, he should take legal action against Helen for defamation and seek her arrest.” VDM’s tone was firm as he outlined the potential legal and social consequences if Helen was found to be fabricating the paternity claims.
In contrast, if the child turned out to be Cubana Chiefpriest’s, VDM had clear advice for the celebrity. “If the child is his, he must take responsibility. He must compensate the mother for any damages inflicted on her and the child.” His suggestion appeared to be a call for accountability, urging both parties to deal with the issue with integrity, irrespective of the outcome.
VDM, who is known for his dramatic presence on social media, did not stop at just offering a DNA test suggestion. He urged Helen to provide further evidence to back up her claims. “Helen must share the phone number that Cubana Chiefpriest used to contact her and the proof of any money he sent to her bank account,” VDM demanded, implying that financial transactions could provide further clues regarding the nature of their relationship.
Adding fuel to the fire, VDM claimed that the child in question bore more resemblance to Helen than to Cubana Chiefpriest. “Look at the boy,” he said, “he looks more like his mother than the barman.” The comment was a direct challenge to the paternity claims, casting doubt on the veracity of Helen’s story.
