Faluyi disclosed this while speaking at the general meeting of the Institute held during the week in Lagos.
According to him, engineers are field practitioners that deal with accident prevention, reducing the risks associated with human error, and deriving safety benefits from engineered systems and designs.
He further stated that safety is associated with industrial engineering and system engineering and applied to manufacturing, public works, and product designs to make security an integral part of operations.
On who can join NIsafetyE, Engr. Faluyi said that anyone could join, especially those certified in engineering.
The meeting had in attendance the immediate past national chairman of the Institute, Engr. Biodun Oyedepo; the Lagos state chapter exco among whom are Engr. Prisca Kanebi (secretary), and Engr. Kayode Fowode(Technical Secretary).
Participant at the event applauded the executive for creating awareness on safety Engineering in the country.
