We Have Nothing to Hide” – VeryDarkMan Defends NGO Amid Donation Controversy

Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has responded to the criticism surrounding his NGO following the revelation that it received millions in donations, including a N100 million contribution from music mogul Don Jazzy. The disclosure sparked debates on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the transparency of the NGO’s financial dealings and the intended use of the funds.

The public outcry grew as Nigerians demanded clearer information about how the donations were being utilized and the real impact of the NGO’s projects. In response, VDM defended the integrity of his organization, stating, “We are doing the work that we said we would do.” He emphasized that every donation received is being used strictly for its intended purposes and pledged to provide transparent updates on the organization’s ongoing projects.

To further address the concerns, VDM released a video explaining the steps he has taken to ensure transparency. He introduced an app designed to monitor the NGO’s finances in real time, stating, “I’ve developed an app that allows everyone to see the details of our finances in real time.” This app, he explained, will make it easier for the public to access the NGO’s financial records.

VDM reassured his followers that the app is available to anyone, emphasizing that the NGO has “nothing to hide.” “The app is available to anyone who wants to check. We have nothing to hide,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to transparency and open accountability.

In his defense, VDM also pointed out that his level of openness is unprecedented in the NGO sector. “No one has ever been as open about their NGO as I have been. This is something I am proud of,” he said, positioning himself as a leader in transparency within the nonprofit sector.

Despite the backlash, VDM remains steadfast in his belief that his NGO is making a genuine impact. He concluded by promising that the organization would continue its work and that detailed updates on its progress would be regularly shared with the public.

Through his public statements and the introduction of the financial tracking app, VDM has made it clear that he is committed to addressing concerns and ensuring his NGO’s operations remain open and accountable.
