Nollywood actor Babatunde Tayo, popularly known as Baba Tee, has made a shocking confession, admitting to having a sexual affair with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, also known as Ijoba Lande.
This revelation came during a live interview with socialite Esabod and several TikTok users on Sunday, contradicting his earlier denial. Previously, Baba Tee had challenged Ijoba Lande to provide proof of the alleged affair with Dara, even threatening legal action for defamation.
Ijoba Lande had earlier accused his wife of infidelity, claiming she had been involved with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry. Among those he named was Baba Tee, who was mentioned in a viral interview and an Instagram post.
In response, Baba Tee initially dismissed the allegations, stating that he had only met Dara once, through actress Marygold, and had no romantic involvement with her. However, in a surprising turn, the 45-year-old actor has now admitted to sleeping with Dara during a night of drinking and a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ with Dara and Marygold at his home.
Baba Tee claimed he had no idea Dara was Ijoba Lande’s wife and now believes the entire situation was a setup meant to tarnish his image. Recounting the incident, he said, “When Marygold and Dara came to my house… She (Marygold) claimed that she wanted me to be an MC for an upcoming programme of hers despite not telling me that she was coming with anyone.”
Baba Tee further explained that Marygold introduced Dara as a content creator, not as Ijoba Lande’s wife. He stated, “They began to ask if I had a Qatar connection before the ‘Truth or Dare’ game suggestion came up.”
According to Baba Tee, the game took a dramatic turn when Marygold dared Dara to let him have a “quick” sexual intercourse with her, and Dara obliged. Baba Tee admitted, “I will not deny that I had a short sexual intercourse with her, it is the first time I am saying it. It is now that I discovered that it was a set-up by both of them to malign my personality.”
Following his admission, Esabod advised Baba Tee to apologize to Ijoba Lande, considering he had previously denied the affair and even threatened legal action. In response, Baba Tee publicly apologized to Ijoba Lande on Facebook, expressing regret and admitting he was unaware of Dara’s true identity.
Baba Tee wrote, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women.” Meanwhile, Marygold, who manages Ijoba Lande, has also been accused of secretly recording what transpired between Baba Tee and Dara.
