Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has slammed Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, calling him a “frustrated politician” over his threat to destabilize states governed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors.
Mohammed’s response came during a meeting with the PDP National Working Committee in Bauchi. He described Wike’s comments as misplaced and assured that Bauchi remains united and strong.
“When we argue, it’s never personal,” Mohammed said. “My friend who made that comment is simply frustrated. Perhaps I said something that upset him, but it’s not personal. Bauchi has enough water to put out any fire.”
The governor reiterated the importance of party unity, citing the PDP’s role in Nigeria’s development. He distinguished between personal relationships and leadership responsibilities.
“We are united; this is not a splinter group,” Mohammed emphasized. “My friend remains my friend, my work is my work, and leadership remains leadership.”
PDP National Legal Advisor Kamaldeen Ajibade Adeyemi, SAN, pledged the National Working Committee’s support for Mohammed and the Governors’ Forum.
