Labour Party’s Peter Obi Donates N50m to Borno Flood Victims

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, led a delegation to Maiduguri, Borno State, to condole with the state over the recent devastating floods. Obi, accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed, and Senator Nenadi Usman, met with Governor Babagana Zulum and the Shehu of Borno.

“We want the people of Borno to know they are not alone,” Obi said, donating N50 million to the state’s emergency relief fund. “We will continue to stand with them, providing aid and resources to help them rebuild and recover.”

The floods have displaced thousands and submerged over half of Maiduguri. Obi’s delegation visited affected areas, including the Bank of the North spare parts market and an IDP camp.

Obi praised the government’s interventions, saying, “We commend the various levels of government, especially the Borno State government, for their support to the affected people.”

The Labour Party is committed to supporting flood victims, Obi reassured. His visit demonstrated leadership and solidarity with the people of Borno.
