Media personality, Daddy Freeze has weighed in on the ongoing divorce drama between Nigerian music legend 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) and his wife, Annie Idibia. In a recent live video on Instagram, Daddy Freeze made it clear that he does not consider Annie a victim in the situation, stating that she was fully aware of 2Baba’s lifestyle before they married.
Speaking candidly about the couple’s relationship, Daddy Freeze said, “Neither one of them was an angel or a demon. They both have their faults. I am close to both of them, so I wouldn’t take any side. But this video is out there, I might just react to it.” He emphasized that both parties have their flaws and that it is essential to consider their entire relationship history before passing judgment.
Daddy Freeze continued by discussing 2Baba’s long-standing behavior, pointing out that he had a history of relationships with multiple women before and during his marriage to Annie. “2Face has been constant in this relationship. Before the wedding, he was like that. He had many women by his side. During the marriage, he had women by his side, so why did we expect that after the marriage, he would become a priest?” he asked, suggesting that public expectations for 2Baba to change after marriage may have been unrealistic.
The media personality further defended 2Baba, stating, “He has never shown us any sign that he isn’t polygamous. He had 5 kids before he got married. That is his weakness, that is his flaw. Let’s not judge him for it or cancel him for it.” Daddy Freeze urged people to remember 2Baba’s significant contributions to African music and culture and not to forget them simply because of his personal flaws, referencing biblical figures such as Solomon, Moses, and Abraham, who were also imperfect.
In his remarks, Daddy Freeze also expressed frustration at the negative portrayal of 2Baba in the media. “All of a sudden, 2Baba is the bad one. All those women saying, ‘2Baba, we will show you,’ can we give this man some credit?” he questioned, noting that the singer has been consistent in his behavior throughout his life.
