Don Moen, Chevelle Franklyn, Sonnie Badu & Paul Baloche Perform Together at The Experience 2020

The Experience 15

Since 2006, The Experience Lagos has been something of a melting pot for some of the world’s renowned gospel ministers and fans alike.

Musicians from all over the world have found an open-ended portal for their creativity and talent. And as much of the world closed down in 2020, creators and music lovers alike found even more space to create a thrilling experience.

This year at the Global Edition of The Experience, some of the world’s leading gospel musicians came together to add their voices to a song titled “Is He Worthy” written by Andrew Peterson.

Music legend Don Moen from his base in Nashville USA was joined by other amazing gospel music crooners; Sonnie Badu from Accra, Ghana; Paul Baloche from New York, USA; Chevelle Franklyn in Kingston, Jamaica;  Lawrence Johnson, Priscilla Campbell-Jones and Tina Brookes also lent their voice from London, in the United Kingdom. There were also additional vocal performances by the Potters House Choir in Dallas, USA and the Maori Choir from Auckland, New Zealand.

Artists had to record their performances with their own teams from their own base courtesy of the power of technology, rather than work with the usual crews provided by the production team if it were a physical event. Don Moen disclosed that in the build up to the concert, he was thinking of a song that they could perform together at this time and he thought of this song.

With the aid of technology, everyone was able to perform their part and Don Moen also pointed out that it was challenging in a good way. He saw it as an evolution and the goal was just to set out and create a song where those watching it from home would listen

But every performance, even with socially distanced band singers arrived meticulously crafted, making the song feel cohesive and inspirational for everyone . This performance shows the beauty of The Experience and how it brings people from different places together.
