The Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day to facilitate travel for workers and electorates to their voting areas ahead of Saturday’s governorship election. This announcement was made through a statement by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Joseph Eboigbe.
According to Eboigbe, “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Edo State Government has declared Friday, September 20, a work-free day.” This decision aims to enable citizens to travel to their respective voting areas, ensuring maximum participation in the election.
Eboigbe reassured the public that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election. “Government wishes everyone journey mercies and reassures that security measures have been provided,” he stated.
The work-free day declaration demonstrates the state government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process. With security measures in place, citizens are encouraged to exercise their civic duty and participate in the governorship election on September 21.
