In a recent episode of the Afrobeat podcast, Falz opened up about a tense phone call with social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), shedding light on their ongoing feud. The conversation focused on VDM’s controversial comments about Falz’s family, which have escalated into a public drama. “I had to reach out to him to address the defamatory statements,” Falz explained during the interview.
The conflict erupted after Bobrisky alleged in an audio recording that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, were bribed concerning his EFCC scandal. This accusation prompted VDM to make disturbing remarks about Falz’s sexual orientation and the reputation of his family. Falz expressed his frustration, saying, “It’s disappointing to see such baseless allegations being thrown around.”
In an effort to resolve the issue, Falz reached out to VDM directly. However, the call quickly turned confrontational, with VDM becoming defensive. “Shebi, you’re a lawyer. Go to court,” VDM retorted, dismissing Falz’s concerns. Despite Falz’s attempts to communicate the seriousness of the situation, VDM remained unyielding.
Falz warned VDM about the potential legal consequences of his defamatory remarks, urging him to apologize and delete the offending posts. Yet, VDM refused to back down, further escalating the tension between them. Falz stated, “I won’t tolerate disrespect towards my family,” making it clear that he would not let the situation slide.
With a firm stance, Falz declared, “If VeryDarkMan is ready for trouble, then I’m also ready.”
