Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has denied allegations of involvement with crossdresser Bobrisky, following accusations made by social media critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan.
Falana stated on Channels Television’s Politics Today that he has never met or spoken to Bobrisky. “Bobrisky never spoke to me, I have never met him, I don’t know him from Adam,” he said.
The allegations claimed that unnamed EFCC officers accepted ₦15 million from Bobrisky to dismiss money laundering charges and that Falana sought a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10 million.
Falana explained that his son, Folarin (Falz), was approached by Bobrisky for assistance but declined, advising him to follow proper channels.
VeryDarkMan had apologized to Falana, stating that he was irritated by the mention of Falana’s name in the audio.
Falana announced that he will embark on civil proceedings to restore his and his son’s integrity, opting not to file a criminal complaint. He emphasized his commitment to decriminalizing freedom of expression in West Africa, choosing instead to focus on clearing his name through civil action.
