A shocking turn of events has unfolded in Nigeria’s crypto-mining community as the highly anticipated Hamster Kombat airdrop yielded paltry payouts, leaving thousands of users in outrage.
After five months of diligent tapping to earn rewards, users expected substantial payouts promised by the coin’s promoters. Many dreamed of becoming millionaires. However, the reality was harsh.
Upon the coin’s launch on Thursday, users discovered that most payouts ranged from $1 to $4, with unconfirmed reports of the highest earner receiving between $7 and $17. Social media platforms are filled with frustrations.
“I spent hours tapping every day, only to receive ₦2.75,” lamented a disgruntled user on social media. “Hamster Coin misled us, promising billions but delivering pennies.”
The campaign, which vowed to turn everyday Nigerians into billionaires and CEOs, has sparked widespread disappointment and anger. Users have taken to various platforms to express outrage.
“This is a slap in the face,” said another user. “We trusted Hamster Kombat, and now our hopes are dashed.”
Hamster Kombat launched in March 2024, generating significant buzz. On Thursday afternoon, the official X account, #hamster_kombat, announced the coin’s launch.
“THE MOMENT IS HERE! $HMSTR trading has officially begun! Congratulations, and to the moon, CEOs,” the announcement read. “On-chain is on. On-chain direct claim and balance withdrawal options are open. You can now transfer your tokens anywhere!”
The once-hopeful community of tappers is now filled with “tears and wailings,” mourning what was supposed to be a life-changing opportunity turned bitter letdown.
