Nigerian actor, Ibrahim Chatta recently made waves with a bold statement about music sensation Davido, claiming that the singer is wealthier and more influential than his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke. Chatta’s comments, which he made in a video discussing respect and age, have sparked conversations about the impact of achievements over age.
The actor was filmed speaking to a group of young people about the concept of respect. In the video, which was shared on Instagram by @kingofprank_1, Chatta discussed how he always shows respect to Queen Badira, the young wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo. He emphasized that respect should be given based on a person’s accomplishments, not their age.
Chatta noted that while age is often a factor in determining respect, a person’s actions and achievements should be the real criteria. “Respect is based on what a person does, not their age,” he stated, explaining that an elder is someone who has achieved significant feats in their life. He used the example of Alexander the Great, who began his reign at a young age and accomplished remarkable feats before his untimely death at 33.
Using this perspective, Chatta argued that someone like Davido, despite his youth, qualifies as an elder due to his extraordinary achievements. He explained that while Davido’s father is a billionaire, the singer’s wealth and influence set him apart. “Davido’s dad is rich but not like Davido,” Chatta said. “If Davido’s dad is passing by, you might not even recognize him if he comes to Oyo. Davido can’t walk past in Akesan, people would tear him apart, a stampede will happen.”
Chatta’s statement is an acknowledgment of Davido’s massive influence and the success he has garnered in both the music industry and beyond. The actor highlighted that despite his father’s wealth, Davido’s own power comes from his achievements, which are visible to the public and recognized across Nigeria and internationally.
The actor continued to explain that an individual’s achievements, such as those of Alexander the Great, should be considered when discussing respect, regardless of age. “A young person who has things of elders, don’t count their age, they are not children,” Chatta said. He further emphasized that Davido’s presence and the respect he commands are clear indications of his stature, despite his relatively young age.
