Juma Jux Opens Up on Love Story with Priscilla Following Private Wedding

Tanzanian singer and songwriter, Juma ‘Jux’ Mkambala has shared details about how he met his wife, Priscilla, the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. The revelation comes days after the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony held in Tanzania on February 7, 2025.

The 35-year-old music star, known for hits like ‘Enjoy,’ disclosed that their love story began unexpectedly while he was on a work trip. During his second proposal, which took place at an intimate gathering with Priscilla’s friends and family, Jux recounted the moment they first met.

Reflecting on their initial encounter, he described it as fate, stating that missing his flight led to a life-changing moment. “The first day I saw Priscilla in Rwanda, I missed my flight and couldn’t get a business-class seat because it was full. I was pissed off, and as I walked past the business class section, I saw her laughing at me. I told my team I wouldn’t talk to any of these ladies again, and later, we ended up staying at the same hotel,” he recalled.

Jux further explained that Priscilla was unwell that day while her friend, Chioma Ikokwu, was socializing with many people. “I started a conversation with her friend, and from there, I gained confidence, and we began talking. I liked her from the first day I saw her at the airport. There was something about her I couldn’t explain, but I knew my heart was drawn to her,” he said.

Despite being conscious of his brand and public image, Jux admitted that all caution disappeared when he was with Priscilla. He emphasized that after multiple encounters, he became certain that she was the woman God had destined for him.

“She took my number, and I told her to text me, but she didn’t. When we met again, I texted her, but she didn’t reply. In East Africa, I have fans, and people recognize me, but when she was around, it was just the two of us. I didn’t care about anything else because I was on a mission,” he revealed.

The singer added, “I had always been mindful of my brand, but none of that mattered with her. As we continued meeting, I realized she was the woman I had been waiting for. God brought everything together in His perfect timing.”

Meanwhile, Priscilla expressed unwavering confidence in her marriage to the Tanzanian musician, highlighting their deep-rooted friendship as the foundation of their union. She acknowledged societal pressures and fears associated with marriage but remained optimistic.

“I know marriage can seem scary, but I always tell him that I don’t just see us as a married couple—I see us as lifelong friends. We are embarking on this journey together, forever,” she stated.

Priscilla also spoke about how Jux has reassured her throughout their relationship. “There are many distractions and challenges, but he tells me to just go with the flow because he knows this is what I want and that it’s the best for me. Throughout the process, it exceeded my expectations,” she said.

She further expressed gratitude to God for blessing her with Jux as a husband, affirming that their relationship is built on more than just social media appearances.

“We are like best friends, supporting each other in every way, and I am so grateful to God for bringing him into my life. It’s the greatest because I have never met any man like my husband. Our relationship goes beyond social media—I feel thrilled, relaxed, and at peace when we are together,” she added.

Priscilla also described their love story as an inspiration to others, believing that their relationship was divinely aligned. “This love story inspires others, making them believe that if we can achieve it, they can too. My story will be different because God has already aligned it. This is the path He has set, and no one can change that,” she concluded.

Although the exact timeline of their relationship remains unclear, Jux first publicly acknowledged Priscilla on social media on June 19, 2024. He posted a video of her with a caption referencing her song ‘Maboss,’ which was released in May 2024.

Following the post, speculation spread among fans, with many believing their romance was a publicity stunt. Some assumed Priscilla was simply a video vixen, but public interest in their relationship skyrocketed after a viral clip captured the couple together at Elements Restaurant Lounge in Tanzania.

The video, which showed Priscilla dancing with Jux, fueled online discussions about their possible romance. However, she publicly confirmed their relationship for the first time on July 22, 2024, posting a photo of Jux with the caption, ‘Mine.’
