Adura Aloba, the brother of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad, has vehemently denied allegations made by actor Yomi Fabiyi. Fabiyi had claimed that Aloba offered ₦3 million in exchange for a compromising video of Mohbad involved in a dispute with his wife, Wunmi.
The allegations came to light during a World Press Conference that Aloba attended, where he was seeking justice for his late brother. Aloba, who appeared at the conference to clarify his position, refuted Fabiyi’s assertions and emphasized that he would never intentionally withhold information that could help in seeking justice for Mohbad.
“Firstly, I don’t have much to say because this case is in court already. I can’t know what killed my brother and be silent about it,” Aloba explained. “So about that video, the video is from three years ago, and I had it on my phone because Mohbad recorded it; however, I’m not the one who sent the actor the video.”
Fabiyi had previously claimed that Aloba reached out to him through direct messages on social media, offering the video of a confrontation between Mohbad and his wife in exchange for ₦3 million. Fabiyi detailed his encounter with Aloba, saying, “Adura Aloba, Mohbad’s younger brother, sent me a DM after listening to me for a while and reacting in the comment section. When he realized that I didn’t see the DM in time, he asked me to check my DM, and lo and behold, he offered to give me a video of a fight between the late singer Mohbad and his wife for ₦3 million.”
In addition to the offer, Fabiyi claimed that the fight, which was reportedly recorded by Mohbad, resulted in the singer falling down the stairs and sustaining a head injury. However, Aloba has strongly rejected these allegations, distancing himself from any involvement in the distribution of the video.
Fabiyi also linked the video to another controversial claim, connecting the altercation to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s sudden and hasty burial in a small casket, which reportedly caused his neck to be broken and contorted to fit. “The altercation led to Mohbad falling down the stairs and sustaining a head injury,” Fabiyi stated, drawing further connections between the incident and the singer’s untimely death.
However, Mohbad’s family has denied Fabiyi’s assertions, particularly the claim regarding the burial. According to them, there was no foul play involved in Mohbad’s death or funeral arrangements, and the allegations made by Fabiyi were unfounded.
Aloba’s public response serves to counter the narrative being propagated by Fabiyi, who had previously suggested that the family was hiding key details about Mohbad’s life and death. Aloba’s statement during the press conference focused on the family’s dedication to justice and their commitment to uncovering the truth surrounding Mohbad’s passing.
“I would never hide something that could help find justice for my brother. Everything I do is for the truth to come out,” Aloba insisted, clarifying his position on the matter. “I have no reason to withhold information or try to exploit my brother’s memory for any personal gain.”
Aloba’s statements mark the latest development in a growing saga involving the late singer’s family, his fans, and various figures within the Nigerian entertainment industry. With the case now in court, it is expected that further details will emerge as the legal process unfolds.
At this time, there has been no official response from Yomi Fabiyi to Aloba’s recent remarks. The public remains eager to see how the matter will progress and whether further evidence will be presented to clarify the situation.
