Mr. Macaroni Criticizes Tinubu Administration, Warns Against Attacks on Obasanjo’s Government

Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has issued a strong warning to the aides of President Bola Tinubu, urging them to refrain from criticizing former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration. In a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday, Mr. Macaroni expressed his frustrations with the current government’s approach to leadership, particularly its spokespersons who, he argued, lack the moral authority to condemn past governments.

The activist’s remarks came in response to recent comments from Tinubu’s aides, who had targeted Obasanjo’s government. Mr. Macaroni, known for his outspoken views on Nigerian politics, emphasized that only the people who have suffered under successive governments have the right to criticize past leaders. “I no send any Nigerian politician but only the people have the right to call out or criticize any politician or government past or present!” he stated.

According to Mr. Macaroni, the Tinubu administration has failed to take responsibility for its own actions and has instead focused on blaming past leaders. He pointed out the stark contrast between the extravagant lifestyles of political leaders and the widespread poverty faced by ordinary Nigerians. “Not spokespersons of the current government who continue to use billions to buy cars and jets while Nigerians are languishing in poverty,” he wrote, condemning the government’s priorities and insensitivity to the struggles of the masses.

He further criticized the current administration for its hypocrisy in handling the nation’s problems. “The current government is flogging the people mercilessly but they still want to dictate when and how the people should cry,” Mr. Macaroni argued. He stressed that those in power today have no right to criticize past governments because the hardships faced by Nigerians under both administrations are essentially the same. “The crime of flogging Nigerians is one and the same,” he added.

Mr. Macaroni also took aim at the lavish allowances enjoyed by politicians, such as feeding, transportation, and even perfume allowances, while millions of Nigerians struggle to make ends meet. “They drive the best cars, so they are immune to potholes on the roads. They fly the best private jets, so who cares about increase in flight prices?” he criticized. His message was clear: the privileges of politicians have distanced them from the reality faced by everyday Nigerians.

In his post, Mr. Macaroni urged Nigerians to unite and hold politicians accountable for their actions, regardless of their political affiliations. He condemned those who defend poor governance for personal gain, stressing the importance of putting the nation’s welfare above temporary political or ethnic loyalties. “How can you continue to defend those that make decisions that favor them but put you in unbearable hardship?” he asked, questioning the motivations of those who support leaders who disregard the struggles of the people.

In conclusion, Mr. Macaroni reminded Nigerians that loyalty should lie with the nation, not with politicians, who he believes are primarily concerned with their own well-being. “Politicians will come and go! Only the nation will remain provided we really want it to,” he said. His powerful message called for collective action against poor governance, urging the public to prioritize the long-term success and development of the country over short-term political interests.
