Technology, especially the advancement of the Internet, has made accessibility and shareability of information and ideas much easier across the world. The story is no different in Nigeria, where new technology innovators are helping the African country gain ground and start to get noticed by the rest of the world.

U.S-based technology entrepreneur Niyi John Olajide through his home healthcare technology company Axxess has been focused since 2007 on being at the forefront of creating a lasting solution to home healthcare delivery across the world. As a Nigerian from Erinmope-Ekiti, Olajide decided that investing in Nigeria was essential.

“Nigeria is the hub for the best brains in the IT sector and software development,” he says. “It’s my own way of contributing my own quota towards ensuring sustainable growth and opportunities for job creation in the economy. I am passionate about increasing access to quality healthcare for people everywhere in the world and with technology, we can make that possible, he added”

“Nigeria is blessed with highly cerebral youth who are doing great things with limited resources when it comes to all aspects software development, robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and the rest,” Olajide continues. “This spurred my interest in partnering with Cavista Nigeria. Today, Cavista is creating solutions to the challenging issues of health care delivery in Nigeria and employing great young minds to solve problems, rather than allowing them to leave Nigeria to use their skills to develop in another country.”

Olajide nurtured Axxess to become the fastest-growing and leading home healthcare technology company in the world, providing a complete suite of innovative, cloud-based software and services while empowering the healthcare industry with powerful yet easy-to-use solutions.

Olajide is relentless about his company’s strategic vision and direction and is passionate about improving the quality of healthcare services delivered to patients in their homes by empowering home health organizations with state-of-the-art technology.

“Axxess played a major role in shaping the $100 billion home health industry in the USA and the $600 billion global industry,” Olajide says. “Axxess has helped process over $30 billion in claims for over 3 million patients served by over 9,000 organizations around the globe.”

Olajide and his team’s focus on excellence in developing its software solutions led Axxess to become the first software platform to be awarded the seal of “CHAP Verified” from Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), the accrediting body for home and community-based health care organizations in the U.S. This commitment operational excellence has led to Axxess receiving ISO 9001 Certification, the world’s most widely recognized quality management standard, developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It focuses on evidence-based decision-making and accountability across an organization to improve communication, operating efficiency, customer focus and employee engagement.

Olajide serves on the board of the Corporate Council on Africa, which promotes U.S. business and investment in Africa, as well as on the board of the Presidential Precinct in the United States, which engages and inspires emerging leaders in Africa and around the world to address challenges in their countries.

In 2016, he was recognized as the youngest-ever Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Texas at Dallas where he recently endowed the largest scholarship fund for the Engineering School for Computer Science students.

As he thoughtfully engages on both continents and around the world, Olajide continues to support and partner with leaders in Africa across government, business, and technology.
