The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to resist any form of intimidation in the November 16 Ondo State governorship election. Agboola Ajayi, the party’s candidate, made this declaration at a youth program in Akure.
“We’ve seen signals, we’ve seen their plans, but we’re not scared of intimidation,” Ajayi said. “People will vote; we’re not scared of anybody once the youth conduct themselves civilly. You can’t take away their right to vote.”
Ajayi urged youths to conquer poverty through their votes. “People are waiting for PDP. We’ll support youths. Don’t be intimidated; the state belongs to all. Vote and defend your votes.”
Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Director General of the PDP Campaign Council, emphasized the party’s commitment to awareness and mobilization. “Our party is back, better than ever. We’re approaching the campaign with cohesion and steadiness.”
Olafeso criticized the APC government, citing self-inflicted poverty and mismanagement. “Nigerians can’t pay school fees, drop out of school, or thrive in business. Even presidential palliatives are stolen in Ondo.”
Daudu Babatunde, PDP Youth Leader, praised the campaign council and caretaker committee for re-awakening youths. “We’ll silence APC through voting protest on November 16. We’ll restore the state’s glory.”
The PDP’s determination to resist intimidation and promote unity has boosted morale among members and supporters.
As the election approaches, the PDP’s commitment to a peaceful and fair process will be crucial.
