Nigerian singer Simi recently shared the heartwarming story of how her husband, Adekunle Gold, proposed to her on camera.
During an appearance on VJ Adams’ “OFFTHETOP” show, Simi revealed that Adekunle Gold popped the question just 10 days before her 30th birthday.
“It was a big surprise for me, and I’m usually hard to surprise,” Simi said, recalling the special day.
Simi explained that Adekunle Gold convinced her to accompany him to the Eko Hotel, pretending his uncles were having dinner there. Unaware of his proposal plans, Simi agreed, emphasizing the importance of meeting his family.
Upon arrival, Simi was stunned to find candles, balloons, and flowers in the room. Adekunle Gold then knelt down and asked her to marry him, to which she responded with a tearful “Yes.”
“I have an ‘I don’t care’ mentality, but Adekunle Gold had everything planned out,” Simi said, praising her husband’s thoughtful gesture.
