Sule Lamido Slams El-Rufai,Amaechi, Calls for Apology to Nigerians

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has sharply criticized ex-ministers Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi for their recent comments about the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its challenges. In an interview with Arise TV, Lamido urged both politicians to apologize to Nigerians for their roles in the current state of the party.

Lamido pointed out that El-Rufai, who recently expressed concerns about the APC’s performance, should take responsibility for the party’s struggles. “If El-Rufai believes the APC is failing, he should be the first to apologize to Nigerians because he played a role in bringing the party to power,” Lamido said, emphasizing that El-Rufai had been part of the team that helped secure the APC’s position in power.

The former governor did not spare Amaechi either, accusing him of playing a similar role in the APC’s rise. He stated that both El-Rufai and Amaechi had initially risen to prominence under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before turning against it. “The PDP made them politically relevant, yet they insulted the party that nurtured them,” Lamido said, adding that their shift in allegiance was not only opportunistic but also damaging to the political landscape.

Lamido suggested that before El-Rufai and Amaechi continue criticizing the APC, they should first seek forgiveness from Nigerians for the problems they helped create. “If they are now talking about opposition, they should first seek forgiveness from Nigerians for the problems they contributed to,” he declared, making it clear that their past actions had played a role in the nation’s current political challenges.
