In a bid to give voice to the genuine aspirations of people and keep children off the streets, Adelowotan Oluwaseun, the creative director of Prime Studio has called on fellow Nigerians to support the company initiative to combat crime rate, eradicate negative environmental influence, improve literacy, and rekindle hope for the dreams, goal, and aspiration of children living in slum areas.
He made this clarion call few days ago while sharing the company idea on why they are organizing a program to support children living in slums tagged “Slum2Prime Initiative”.
This program, according to Oluwasegun will serve as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) of Prime Studio to develop children in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In his words, he said “The programme aims at transforming the society by empowering under-served children in slums and remote communities with entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support to enable them to realize their full potential and become social reformers.”
Buttressing his point, he said “Our team have decided to select the 20 beneficiaries of the Slum2Prime Initiative across the Five administrative divisions of Lagos state i.e. Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos [Eko] and Epe. This means that we will have four beneficiaries from each administrative division regardless of their gender and with special consideration to the Makoko area of Lagos state. They will fall between the ages of 10-17 years of age.
On what the beneficiaries stand to gain, he said “We’re going to train them on photography and cinematography as we believe that photography and cinematography in itself is incomplete without training. It should also be noted that this initiative is designed to immensely set beneficiaries on the path of entrepreneurship and skill development. It is our earnest hope and desire that this project become a continuous annual project which will get bigger and better by each edition.”
Meanwhile, Prime Studio is run by three partners Adelowotan Oluwaseun as the creative director, Ogunmokun Opeyemi as Production Manager while Irewumi Taiwo Aanu is the Studio manager.
