For His Imperial Majesty, Oba Frederick Enitiolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Ugboland, it’s a July to remember. And that’s not just because he joined the league of septuagenarian but because the month is unique for him and his children. This is because, three of his children also shared birthday month with him.
Prince Akinfemiwa Akinrutan the managing director of Obat Oil was also born on the 16th of July while Anderson Akinruntan and Princess Funmilayo Akinruntan were born on 18th and 19th of July respectively.
Although, the birthday was devoid of huge celebration but the flamboyant king was celebrated by his children and friends as well as his kinsmen who appreciate the grace of God in his life.
Aside from the oil and gas business, Oba Akinruntan is also into real estate. He has state-of-the-heart buildings in London and across Nigeria, including the prestigious Febson Hotels and Mall in the Central Business District of Abuja.
The stylish Oba, who sits atop a business conglomerate with interests in petroleum, shipping, construction, fishery, tourism and hospitality, consultancy services and water purification and production, owns one of the most expensive yachts in the country.
In 2014, the traditional ruler was ranked by Forbes magazine as the second richest King in Africa and the richest in Nigeria. He has a custom built 2012 Rolls Royce similar to that of Queen Elizabeth II.
