Kemi Olunloyo has weighed in on the bitter feud between Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Davido, offering a new perspective on the tension that has captured public attention. After Wizkid’s recent social media rant, which included sharp remarks questioning Davido’s “001” title and insinuating that his inner circle is financially dependent on him, Olunloyo has suggested that the root of the conflict stems from a perceived betrayal over a performance opportunity.
In a TikTok video, Olunloyo shared her thoughts, expressing surprise at Wizkid’s harsh words. “Wizkid doesn’t usually get this confrontational unless something serious happened,” she noted. She then pointed to Davido as the likely instigator, implying that his actions may have pushed Wizkid to his limits. “Davido probably crossed a line, and that’s why Wizkid lashed out,” she stated, hinting at unresolved tensions between the two stars.
Olunloyo added a new twist to the story, implicating Nigerian billionaire Tony Elumelu in the dispute. She claimed that Wizkid was initially scheduled to perform at the 75th anniversary of United Bank for Africa (UBA), an event organized by Elumelu, but that Davido allegedly took over the slot. “Wizkid felt betrayed when Davido took his place at the UBA event,” she revealed, suggesting that this incident may have been the tipping point for Wizkid’s public attack on his rival.
This revelation adds another layer to the already intense rivalry between the two Afrobeats giants, suggesting that personal betrayals, rather than just professional competition, may be fueling their clash.
