The social media feud between Afrobeats artist Seun Kuti and political activist Aisha Yesufu is far from over, with both figures exchanging pointed remarks in a series of trending videos. The clash erupted after Seun advised Aisha to remove her Hijab before discussing the liberation of Nigerian women, a comment that sparked outrage among many supporters of both parties.
In response to Seun’s controversial statement, Aisha took to social media to assert her independence and criticize the artist. “I wouldn’t let him intimidate me,” she declared in a video. Aisha further challenged Seun’s musical career, expressing confidence in her own abilities. “Seun, I for break every bone wey dey your body,” she stated, emphasizing her readiness to confront him.
Seun did not hold back in his replies either. In one video, he recalled a previous encounter with Aisha on a TV show, where they shared the stage with actress Kate Henshaw. He described the experience humorously, saying, “I had to sit next to Aisha and deal with her smell for two hours during the show,” indicating his disdain for her presence at the time.
The clash deepened when Aisha pointed out that Seun had not achieved the same level of success as American music mogul Jay-Z. Seun defended himself by arguing that the private sector should be held accountable for Nigeria’s economic challenges. “We were discussing politics, and I said the private sector should be held responsible,” he explained.
During the heated exchange, Seun confronted Aisha’s comments, questioning her claims about his success. “She said I am not a capitalist like Jay-Z because I never blow, and I asked her when she would account to Obideints,” he noted, referring to the political movement associated with former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
The ongoing back-and-forth between the two has captured the attention of their followers and sparked debates on social media about activism, accountability, and personal integrity in public discourse. Supporters of both Kuti and Yesufu have taken to various platforms to voice their opinions, further fueling the clash.
As the exchanges continue, many are watching closely to see if either party will back down or if the feud will escalate even further. Both Seun Kuti and Aisha Yesufu remain influential figures in their respective spheres, making their public disagreements particularly significant in the current social and political climate in Nigeria.
