Lawmaker Aderemi Oseni Appeals for Patience with Tinubu’s Administration, Unveils N250 Million Empowerment Initiative in Oyo State

Aderemi Oseni, the lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has called on Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the country’s current challenges are surmountable. Speaking at the launch of a N250 million empowerment initiative for the Blacksmith, Welders, Iron Benders, and Metal Technicians Association of Nigeria (BWAIAN), Oseni urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Tinubu-led government despite the tough economic climate. “I appeal to Nigerians to give President Tinubu more time to fix Nigeria. The challenges facing us are difficult but they are surmountable,” he said during the event held at Bembo Game Village, Apata, in Oyo State’s Ido Local Government Area on Sunday.

Oseni, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, acknowledged the difficulties many Nigerians are facing, admitting that some of the administration’s policies have been tough. However, he emphasized that these policies are necessary to secure a brighter future for the nation. “I agree that some of Tinubu’s policies are tough, but these are the tough decisions that Nigeria needs at this particular period,” he said. He encouraged the people to remain steadfast, despite the economic difficulties, as the long-term benefits would outweigh the immediate hardships.

During the event, Oseni unveiled the N250 million empowerment initiative, designed to support the livelihoods of blacksmiths, welders, and metal workers in the region. He described the initiative as part of his broader agenda to support local artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs. “This programme will provide BWAIAN members with tools, machinery, and financial assistance to enhance their trades and improve their livelihoods,” Oseni explained. The initiative is expected to boost local businesses, improve incomes, and contribute to the state’s overall economic development.

Oseni further commended the resilience and economic contributions of blacksmiths, welders, and metal workers, describing them as vital to the state’s economy. “Your contributions are invaluable, and it is important that we support and uplift artisans like yourselves, who are the backbone of our local economy,” he said. The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of his constituents, pledging continued efforts to improve their lives and livelihoods.

The N250 million initiative includes the distribution of essential tools, equipment, and financial grants to members of BWAIAN. Oseni said that the empowerment would not only improve their immediate work conditions but also open up new opportunities for business growth and economic stability. “This initiative aims to expand your businesses, boost your incomes, and contribute to the economic growth of Oyo State,” he stated.

In a show of gratitude, Munirudeen Rauf, the state leader of BWAIAN, praised Oseni for his generosity and foresight. He called on other political leaders and wealthy individuals to follow Oseni’s example by investing in small and medium-scale entrepreneurs. “We are very grateful for this initiative. It will go a long way in empowering our members and improving our lives,” Rauf said. He assured Oseni that the equipment and financial grants provided would be used judiciously to benefit the association and its members.
