A businessman in the aviation industry, who co-founded a private jet charter company, has rejected claims that Nigerian musicians own private jets. His comments come in response to a circulating video suggesting that Burna Boy, the Grammy Award-winning artist, owns a private jet, which sparked widespread discussion among fans.

In a tweet, the businessman clarified that no Nigerian musician owns a private jet, stating, “Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, apart from Davido who flies his Dad’s jet.” He explained that while artists like Burna Boy and others typically use charter services for air travel, Davido, head of the DMW record label, is an exception, as he travels in a jet that belongs to his billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke.

The businessman also emphasized that his comments were not meant to disparage anyone in the music industry. “Renting a jet should not be seen as living a ‘fake life,’” he added, pointing out that chartering a jet is often a costly and practical option for many high-profile individuals. His remarks serve to address misconceptions surrounding the lavish lifestyles often attributed to Nigerian musicians.
