This is definitely not a good time for the family of the number one citizen of Delta state, Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his adorable wife, Edith and the governor of Ondo State, Akeredolu who was tested positive to COVID-19.
This is coming after the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Kaduna State governor, El-rufai and Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi was tested positive and later survived the pandemic.
The citizens of Delta and Ondo state have been praying for the two families not only to survive but come out in flying colour to take up the mantle and transform their state respectively.
Okowa whose daughter was also tested positive to the virus posted on his verified facebook page saying that, “My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter.”
Some of his followers on social media salute his courage and openness which will encourage others to come out and put a stop to the daunting minds who have been saying Covid-19 is a total scam that the virus is real and abide by measures to contain the spread.
According to Akeredolu in a statement “I am currently self-isolating and supervised home management will be administered by the wonderful team at our Infectious Disease Hospital. I ask that we all stay safe and be well.”
Meanwhile, some of the top public officers who have tested positive for the disease like Abba Kyari, the late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Bayo Osinowo and former governor Ajimobi never live to give account of their experience and encounter with the pandemic.
