Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Denies Clubbing, Insists on His Mission to Help Youth

Flamboyant Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, who is based in the United Kingdom, has denied allegations that he attends night clubs, clarifying that he only visits restaurants with friends from Nigeria and around the world. The founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation) made this statement on Monday during an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

“I have never been seen in a night club but in a restaurant with some of my friends,” Adegboyega said, addressing rumors about his social life. The pastor emphasized that his public appearances in various social settings have been misunderstood, stating that his gatherings are centered around meals with friends rather than nightlife. He also took the opportunity to share his long-standing commitment to preaching, noting, “I preached my first message at the age of eight and I have been preaching since then.”

Adegboyega, who has been embroiled in controversy recently, is facing a looming deportation order from the UK. He lost his immigration battle after the UK Tribunal ruled that he should be deported back to Nigeria. The court determined that Adegboyega had entered the UK on a visitor’s visa in 2005 and overstayed, remaining in the country illegally after his visa expired.

The tribunal also stated that Adegboyega had attempted to stay in the UK on human rights grounds, a claim that was ultimately rejected. This legal setback has placed the pastor at the center of a heated debate regarding his stay in the UK and his activities there. However, Adegboyega remains defiant, stating that he continues to fight for his right to stay in the country.

At 44 years old, Adegboyega has been a polarizing figure, with his extravagant lifestyle often drawing criticism. In his defense, he explained that his public display of wealth and success was intended to inspire young people. “My motive for flaunting my lifestyle was to help young people believe there are legitimate ways of making money,” he explained, defending his actions as a means of motivation.

Adegboyega has also faced accusations of financial impropriety, with some critics alleging that he has benefited financially from the church. Despite these allegations, the pastor vehemently denied any wrongdoing, insisting that he does not profit from the church’s finances. “I don’t benefit from the church’s finances,” he asserted, distancing himself from the fraud claims that have plagued his reputation.
