Nigerian midfielder Ngozi Okobi has announced the birth of her first child, sharing her joy on social media. “Congratulations to me. #godbepraised #iamamother #newmom. I am in my new season #NSPPD,” she wrote, accompanied by photos of her baby bump.
Okobi, a seasoned player for the Super Falcons, had kept her pregnancy under wraps, only occasionally sharing glimpses into her life on social media. She married her husband, Okeoghene, in 2017 and continued to excel in her football career, playing professionally for almost seven years before becoming a mother.
With an impressive international career spanning over a decade, Okobi has represented Nigeria in several major tournaments, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup, WAFCON, and the U-17 and U-20 World Cups. Although she was excluded from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, her fans and colleagues are thrilled about her new role.
