Wunmi, the widow of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad, has recently gone public with serious allegations against Ayodele Famuyiwa, a man she claims has been threatening her and her young son for over a year. Famuyiwa, who is the power of attorney for Wunmi’s father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, is accused of using social media platforms to harass and intimidate her, particularly through live broadcasts on TikTok.
Wunmi shared her distress on Instagram, where she revealed disturbing details of the threats she has faced. “You are on a TikTok platform openly threatening to harm me and my child,” she wrote in a message aimed directly at Famuyiwa. “You have repeatedly sworn that over your dead body would Liam inherit his father’s royalties,” Wunmi continued, making it clear that the threats were not only verbal but also targeted her son, Liam, and her late husband’s estate.
In her post, Wunmi further highlighted the bizarre and disturbing nature of these threats. She noted that Famuyiwa, who resides in New Mexico, USA, has been harassing her for more than 15 months, despite the geographical distance. “Ayodele Famuyiwa, my father-in-law’s Power of Attorney and spokesperson, lives in New Mexico, USA. For over 15 months, you have bullied me. You have dragged my name through the mud,” she claimed, revealing the duration and severity of the emotional toll this ongoing situation has taken on her.
Wunmi also emphasized the continued harassment even after her husband’s tragic passing. She has made it clear that she has been subjected to this mistreatment long after Mohbad’s death, stating that the harassment had become a relentless part of her life. “This man has made my life miserable since my husband passed. His threats against me and my son have never stopped,” she added, describing the anguish she has endured during this period.
A major point of contention in Wunmi’s message is the ongoing dispute over her late husband’s estate. She pointed to the unresolved matter of a DNA test as a key issue. Wunmi believes that once the DNA test is completed, both Famuyiwa and her father-in-law will be legally required to honor her husband’s legacy and stop their harassment. “He knows once the DNA is done, he will be left with no choice than to bury my husband,” Wunmi stated, underscoring the significance of this test in the ongoing dispute over Mohbad’s estate.
Wunmi also made a heartfelt appeal to her late husband’s family, calling on Nigerians to intervene on her behalf. “Ayodele Famuyiwa has threatened to take Liam out of the way,” she said, pleading for support from the public. “Please help me beg my father-in-law to do the DNA, if not for anything but for the sake of Mohbad,” she urged, emphasizing that she has been ready for the test since 2023 but lacked the courage to speak out sooner due to the relentless harassment.
In her post, Wunmi revealed that it took her an immense amount of strength to come forward and share her story. “It took everything in me to get to this point,” she confessed. “Seventeen months of relentless bullying, the strength I have gathered isn’t easy to rebuild.” The emotional strain of living under constant threat has clearly taken a toll on her, and she hopes that by speaking out, she can finally find some resolution for herself and her son.
Wunmi’s frustration with the prolonged state of affairs was palpable in her words. She expressed a desire for her late husband to be allowed to rest in peace, stating that there is no valid reason why Mohbad is still in the morgue. “My husband deserves to rest,” she said. “There’s no genuine reason why he is still at the morgue.”
