Falz Clears Air On Bobrisky Saga

Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has responded to defamatory statements made by social media personality, Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan. Falz’s legal team, Falana & Falana Chambers, issued a letter demanding a retraction and public apology.

According to the letter, VeryDarkMan’s Instagram post suggested Falz conspired with Bobrisky to “pervert the course of justice” by providing financial assistance. However, Falz’s lawyer, Taiwo E. Olawanle, clarified that Bobrisky initiated contact, seeking legal advice.

The letter stated, “Mr. Idris Okuneye (AKA Bobrisky) contacted our client requesting a phone conversation… Our client gratuitously obliged, having knowledge of the Naira abuse charges leveled against him.”

During the conversation, Bobrisky requested N3 million to secure a VIP section at the Correctional Centre. Falz advised against making any payments, stating, “There was no need to pay the officials of the Correctional Centre any money.”

Falz’s legal team emphasized that he did not provide financial assistance or engage in any wrongdoing. The letter demanded a retraction and public apology within 24 hours, warning of legal action if unheeded.

VeryDarkMan’s post followed Bobrisky’s allegations that EFCC officers collected N15 million to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky has since denied the allegations, and the EFCC Chairman ordered an investigation.

Falz’s swift response aims to protect his reputation and address misinformation. The incident highlights the importance of verifying information before sharing.

Falz’s lawyer reiterated, “Our client will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who damages his reputation.”
